COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT

Leaders Lead. At the height of the pandemic, we rose to the occasion and pushed through our programs, and fed 16,000 first responders and families with meals purchased from black – owned restaurants and food service providers.
Collaboratively, we are consistently providing hot nutritious meals to the ICU, ER, and Maintenance Staffs at hospitals in all five boroughs of New York City and the feeding initiatives at Abyssinian Baptist Church, Salem United Methodist Church, and First Baptist Church of East Elmhurst. In addition, PPE equipment, including 60,000 masks, is being provided to Community Health Centers, NYCHA Developments, and NYC Shelters throughout the city. For more information on the places and communities served, contact office@ohbm.org.
Community Engagement also consisted of leadership participation in local BLM events.
