Golf Classic
2025
Dr. Roscoe C. Brown & Christopher E. Bennett Golf Classic
We enjoy our 18th Annual days of golfing, (at Ardsley Country Club, Dobbs Ferry, New York) as we celebrate over 60 years of community service and fundraise to support our youth development programs — a 2-day event!
Golf Classic Title Honoree – Christopher E. Bennett
This year, in honor of our 2025 theme “BLACK WEALTH MATTERS,” we recognize Christopher E. Bennett, golfer, health advocate (see his story on our home page), philanthropist, and fundraiser to support OHBM Scholarships, Operations and Programming and OHBM member since 2019.
Day 1:
Honoree – Barry Simmons
Barry Simmons, recently named Head of National Sales for Wells Fargo Advisors, is a long-standing member and exemplifies commitment to advocate for youth development, scholarship support, and civic engagement through OHBM programs.
Day 2:
Honoree – Curtis Harris
Curtis Harris’s recognition reflects his contributions as a long-standing member and enduring commitment to advocate for youth development, scholarship support, and civic engagement through OHBM programs.
For both days, your purchase includes brunch, green fees, cart rentals, hand-rolled cigars, and a post-event awards reception. A portion of every dollar raised contributes to a scholar having an opportunity to earn a scholarship to go to college and have a mentor. Over a two-day period, the classic brings together an audience of more than 300 participants including golfers, non-golfers, youth, OHBM members, sponsors, and guests to Ardsley Country Club for golf and related activities. On days one and two, golfers play an 18-hole scramble. Non-golfers participate in golf clinics, health-related workshops, spa opportunities, lunch, and a closing dinner reception.
Each year our classic attracts mission-aligned business and community leaders who understand that an investment in our youth is an investment in our future. See OHBM History. Looking forward to your joining us: hit them long and hit them straight.
Day 1:
4th Annual Jr. One Hundred Challenge /
and OHBM Fraternal Challenge
This day is powered by the PGA of America, they train urban youth in golf fundamentals and introduce pipeline opportunities into the golf business.
All golfers enjoy complimentary brunch, green fees, cart rentals, hand-rolled cigars, and an awards reception. The OHBM annual golf outing attracts a high-profile array of New York’s business and community leaders and notables seeking to make each drive count!
As we navigate through these still turbulent times, One Hundred Black Men holds true to its commitment to scholarship and continuing to push the educational advancements of the next generation of young Black and Brown men and women.
Continuing to honor our commitment to the Junior One Hundred scholarship program, we are adding the Fraternal Challenge to the “18th Annual Dr. Roscoe C. Brown, Jr. & Christopher E. Bennett Golf Classic,” our annual outdoor fundraiser that assists in raising money for deserving students to attend college through our scholarships.
We remain cognizant of those still affected by the pandemic’s economic upheaval and are doing our part to assist in relief. Proceeds from this year’s Classic will aid in expanding our “Citywide Hunger Relief” program to support seniors and families in need by providing them meals under the guidelines recommended by the CDC. Please stand with the One Hundred Black Men by participating in this year’s golf classic and help support our efforts to support our community as we continue to navigate the emerging climate, change outcomes and save lives.
